1973 FERRARI Dino 246 GTS
Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, chassis #06878, produced on July 17th, 1973 and delivered new via Garage Francorchamps in Belgium.
One of only 401 European-specification 246 GTS left-hand drive examples produced, and one of just 114 cars (GT and GTS) finished in the rare and elegant Glidden Salchi optional colour “Rosso Bordeaux”.
Finished in its original colour combination of Rosso Bordeaux (20-R-351) with beige leather interior (VM3218), the car retains its matching numbers gearbox and body.
It benefits from a well-documented history, including ownership by Christian Philippsen (Secretary-General of the French Ferrari Club), Baron Bic, and renowned collector Jacques Dufau.
In 1991, the car was returned to Maranello for a comprehensive restoration, including a bare metal repaint in its original colour.
Later, in 2009, following an engine issue, the original engine block was replaced; importantly, the original (damaged) block has been retained and is supplied with the car.
Further work included a full engine rebuild and gearbox overhaul, along with additional mechanical refurbishment over the years (supported by invoices and photographs), including brakes, suspension, wheels and interior.
The car has covered approximately 109,000 km from new, with around 7,000 km since the last engine rebuild.
Presented today in superb condition throughout, with original colours, matching numbers gearbox and body, and excellent mechanical integrity, this Dino represents a highly desirable and carefully maintained example.
